This is a very attractive cycling route for mountain bikers with demanding uphill rides, very similar to the world mountain bike marathon races.
It starts in Šibenik, riding along the asphalt road for 10 km in the direction of the National Park Krka. Then it turns to the hill Krtolin, the ride on the macadam road takes you to the peak with windmills and the beautiful view of the National Park Kornati and the whole archipelago of Šibenik. Then the downhill ride on the macadam road to the asphalt road leading through the village of Danilo and again the uphill ride on the macadam road to the wind park Crnobrdo. At the crossroads you may turn left and visit the important ancient and old Croatian site of Rider (1st - 6th century).
The route then leads to the asphalt road to the village of Vrpolje, passing through it and climbing the wood to the third wind park on the Orlice hill. The downhill race is on the beautiful macadam road surrounded by vineyards, dry stone walls and small stone shelters (known as “bunja”). The route comes to Jadrtovac, riding to the Adriatic state road and then through Brodarica to Šibenik.
For those who aren’t top fit, the suggestion is to turn right in Vrpolje in the direction of Šibenik and in a slow ride through the fertile and picturesque Donjepolje to visit some of the old Croatian churches or to look for refreshment in one of the local inns with home - made specialties.
